| Frequently Asked Questions |
Q: What is TheRecipeBook.com?
A: TheRecipeBook.com (TRB) is a web community where anyone passionate about food and cooking can store and exchange recipes and food ideas.
Q: How does it work?
A: It’s very easy…anyone can search recipes, view pages and print recipes on this website by either keyword search or category search. A registered user can participate in the TRB Forum as well as add recipes that can be shared with our community. You will be able to save recipes in your very own “MyRecipeBook”.
Q: Is there a cost to be a member?
A: There is absolutely no cost at all to be a member.
Q: How do I register?
A: All we require is a name, user name, and you set your own password.
Q: What about privacy?
A: Your password information is not known by anyone (including us) as it is encrypted. We will not sell or provide your e-mail address to anyone, without your permission...period.
Q: How do I add a recipe?
A: You must be logged in as a TRB user…click “Add a Recipe” under the Recipes tab…complete all of the entry boxes with title descriptions and the steps of how to prepare and make the recipe. We also have added the option of adding a picture of the finished dish as well (if you have one). Before you submit the recipe, we will ask you to select the categories that best describe the Course, Cuisine, Main Ingredient, Special Occasion, or Method. The TRB team will quickly review the recipe and your posting will be added to the community in no time.
Q: Can I submit any recipe?
A: No, you are not allowed to just copy a recipe from a cookbook or magazine. Those are protected for the publisher by copyright law. Copyright covers the exact text, formula, and extensive literary expression by the author. So if there is a recipe that you created or found somewhere else, you can submit as long as you write the instructions and method yourself.
Q: Can I add my own comments to an existing recipe after I try it?
A: Yes, not only can you add you own comments and thoughts, but you will have the ability to "Rate" a recipe also.
Q: How does a recipe become Recipe of the Week?
A: The team at TRB will be trying your recipes and we will pick one each week that we liked and felt is worthy of showcasing to the entire community.
If there is a question that we did not answer, please send us a note under “Contact Us”. Thank you for joining TheRecipeBook.com community.
