recipe added by: chefdan, November 30, 1999 - TheRecipeBook.com
A wonderful summer drink to keep you cool and refreshed. There are many variations, but this is one similar to what Hemingway enjoyed while visiting Cuba.
Recipe Ingredients
1 teaspoon powdered sugar
2 onces lime juice (squeezed from 1 fresh lime)
4 mint leaves
1 sprig of mint
2 ounces of light rum
3 ounces of club soda
Recipe Steps
1- place the 4 mint leaves in a tall glass and squeeze the lime juice over them
2- add the powdered sugar and gently smash the mint into the lime juice and sugar with a muddler
3- add ice (crushed or cube) and then add the rum, stir, and then finish with the club soda
4- garnish with the remaining mint sprig

Additional Tips
Some ppl add 3 drops of bitters with the rum...and also add a lime wedge as a garnish...enjoy!
